Our People:
Founded in 1991, The Pegasus Group spearheaded the development and construction of what is now the premier Private Hospital on the East Coast of Southern Africa, The Bay Hospital, boasting over 150 beds and 5 theaters. Notably, a distinguishing feature of this project was the majority of resident doctors purchasing their own consulting rooms from the hospital, ensuring the developer’s confidence in the hospital’s sustainable future. This initial success propelled rapid business growth, fueling our drive and passion for undertaking numerous hospital development projects across Africa.
CEO, Gerhard Pretorius
Beginning in construction in 1978, he progressed through the industry to reach senior management positions in major companies.
Previously, he served as the developer, major shareholder, and director of Umhlanga Private Hospital, and he remains actively engaged in private hospital management to this day.
He was the founding Commanding Officer of the 44 Parachute Engineer Regiment, part of 44 Parachute Brigade.
